It’s Friday the 13th. A day of ominous superstition and bad luck.

But not as far as stocks are concerned.
In fact, looking at 2013 in general, for the S&P 500 Friday has provided a solid upside edge. Of the 48 Friday trading sessions booked this year, 32 (66.67%) of them have been positive; and with an average gain of +0.55%, or +9.82 points based off yesterday’s 1775.5 close. Flipping the coin over, the 16 losing days have averaged a comparatively modest -0.34%, or -6.04 points.
