I came along,

I wrote a song for you,

And all the things you do,

And it was called yellow – Coldplay “Yellow

Every parent shares a bond, a love, an interconnectedness with their children… and the magic moment when your child is born is like no other.

I remember the day vividly… June 4, 2009. After a long, stubborn battle, Dylan finally gave mom a break and decided to enter the world. As with Lindsay (and later Brady), it was an overwhelming, yet precious moment; I remember the world stopping and looking at Jen and thinking wow, “we did it again” – such a beautiful moment. Lots of laughter and tears…

In an effort to capture the essence of each child’s uniqueness, Jen and I honor each of our children with a song. And since Dylan was our first boy (giving dad some additional pressure) and since he had elevated bilirubins leaving him a bit “yellow” and in the hospital for an extra night under the lights, our choice was easy: Coldplay’s “Yellow” – which is also one of dad’s favorites.Dylan_bday

So today is your day Dylan. As you’ve been saying, “I’m the Birthday Boy.”  Yes you are…

You are full of wonder, affection, athleticism, meat-headedness, laughter, stubbornness, and endless love. We can’t get enough of that cute “hop” in your step and we love how you live life with a vigor like no other. From your bike to the color orange to your favorite Cars Crocs, you are a very loved, very special little “big” boy. One wish from mommy and daddy – please don’t grow up too fast;)

And in the words of our bedtime song, “Daddy loves his little boy.”

We all love you very much bud! ~Mommy, Daddy, Lindsay, & Brady
